A perfect pendant shaped of sea glass in this amazingly " black" sea glass piece. It is set here in our Triple Wire setting that leaves the sea glass totally unaltered from the way it was found on the beach.
The term black glass mainly refers to very dark bottles from about 1690 to the 1850. Black glass bottles are usually not acutally black, but the colors (ranging from dark brown to olive-green) become visible when the bottle is held against the light. One reason for the production of black glass was that it protected the contents of the bottle against the harmful effects of light. Modern sources could be Champagne bottles.
This pendant comes with a free sterling plated chain (not shown) but looks beautiful on our sterling snake chains (shown but not included) that are available as an upgrade. If purchasing for a man, please inquire about our neoprene cords with sterling clasps.
The double loop bail insures this piece will hang perfectly on any chain and the bail will accomodate a chain of 5MM wide.
