Great piece of thick natural sea glass pendant on a hand cast Florentine style sterling bail.
This is end of day glass, or slag glass from an Victorian glass factory site that overlooked the North Sea in a small hamlet in Northern England. Glass colors were mixed together accidentally in the glass making process, then discarded into the sea. Now these amazing top quality sea glass pieces wash up on local beaches.
OVER 100 years old. Sea glass from this region tends to be very thick, round and totally frosted. Much of it started out as huge lumps of slag glass that was a byproduct of the glass making industry.
Comes with a free sterling plated rope chain (NOT shown) but will go on just about any necklace you may already own. The bail has a large oval opening that measures 12 x 10 MM. Will accommodate most Omega chains.
