Black sea glass tends to be very thick and old, this piece is a bit flatter with only a hint of deep dark green when held to a very bright light. There is no TRUE black in glass colors as black is the absence of color. Most black sea glass bears a "hint" of color, whether brown, green or even sometimes red. In normal lighting conditions, this piece appears pitch black.
