A beautiful match of deep Vivid Red sea glass from Puerto Rico. Red is the hope diamond of sea glasses and this perfect pair is a treasure for any sea glass lover!
These are lightweight and very bright as the sea glass pieces are somewhat thinner letting tons of light shine through these pieces.
We are one of the only sea glass artisans in the world that can produce red sea glass earrings of this caliber and we only are able to do one or two pair a season. Red glass is very expensive even in new glass as gold was used to tint the glass the red color.
This color of red glass is slightly more available as the original product was made commercially by the Anchor Hocking company in the mid 20th century. Hocking found a way to make the red glass color using copper instead of gold (the traditional mineral used to make red glass). It was in wide use for Schlitz Beer in the 1950's and also used in decorative housewares. Avon also used the glass in many perfume bottles.
