This original By The Sea Jewelry setting that encases the glass in silver leaving front and back open so you can feel the texture of this antique top quality glass. We consider it a crime to drill this old wonderful 100+ year old sea glass.
Many pieces of sea glass from this region started out as slag or cullet glass. These were large lumps of glass and a by product of the glass making industry in the Tyne and Wear region. The sea glass from this area tends to be very round and thick as it was never made into an end product.
