A PERFECT piece of lavender or purple sea glass from Seaham Harbor set in our Solid Sterling Silver Deluxe Wire Bezel pendant setting.
-
Lavender or Purple sea glass actually started out as a white glass product. Over time the Manganese content in the glass (used to bleach the molten glass white) turns the glass purple over time. Exposure to sun intensifies this effect.
-
This glass seems to have originated as slag or cullet glass (shown as an example in photo) that was never made into an end product. This accounts for it's perfect roundness and thickness. Sea Glass that is from bottle or jars is much less thick and round.
-
In Seaham England they are called "Gemballs".
-
This piece comes with a free Sterling Plated chain (not shown) but other options like this 2MM Solid Sterling Silver Snake Chain are available and recommended as an upgrade.
-
The Solid Sterling bail will accommodate a chain of 8MM wide (see full product measurements on Product Details tab)..
-
A close up marco of this EXACT piece shows you the telltale c's that let y our know this piece was aged only by tide and time.
-
A very tactile piece of natural sea glass jewelry.
Guaranteed to get you Compliments!
