Talk about RARE these EXTRAORDINARY pieces of sea glass that originated as scrap Hartley Wood Glass set in our Sterling Silver Original Wire Bezel© setting that leaves the sea glass UNALTERED from the way it was found on the beach.

This is not sun glass that changes color over time! This particular color is so amazingly rare as purple was reserved for the Church and Royalty. This color can be attributed to a Limited run of glass done to commemorate the end of a run on a special job. Tony Benyon an English art glass historian attributes this color to a Hartley Wood bottle presented by the firm to Carl Edwards for last large order of slabs manufactured for inclusion in the Great West Window, Liverpool Anglican Cathedral. The round top of the bottle was usually removed and thrown back into pot for re-use but on this occasion retained for sculptural effect. (Pictured here is that ink well).

Almost like insects in amber, the darker spots in the one earring are from "release" that was used in glass making so the glass would not stick to the tools working it, making this pair of earrings even more historical.

The scrap was tossed into the sea and these lovely frosted Natural sea glass gems are the result. It has been verified by an English art Professor that these are certainly remnants of the Hartley and James Factory that was down the beach from Seaham England.
