This setting does not alter the sea glass from the way it was found on the beach.
This particular pair has a small "dimple" on one of the pieces that was an air bubble in the glass that broke out. It does not harm or mar the beauty of these earrings and only attests to their authenticity.
From a site in England where an Victorian era glass manufacturers would toss scraps over the cliff at the end of the day. These earring pieces could have been intended for a Hartley and James art glass piece (pictured in photo) that was broken or scrap glass and then tossed in the local waters.
